Charred Chicago Dogs

Makes 6 servings

INGREDIENTS:

  • 6 Bar-S Beef Jumbo Jumbos Franks
  • 6 large hot dog buns (plain or poppy seed)
  • 3 large roma tomatoes, sliced into wedges with the stem removed
  • 6 kosher dill spears
  • 1 white onion, diced
  • 1 cup sweet green relish
  • ½ cup yellow mustard
  • 1 jar (15 oz.) sport peppers, whole
  • 1 cucumber, sliced (optional)
  • ¼ cup celery salt

PREPARATION:

  1. Sprinkle each frank with ½ tablespoon of celery salt.
  2. Grill the franks for 5-6 minutes on high heat, rotating occasionally.
  3. After removing the franks from the grill, sprinkle again with the remaining celery salt.
  4. Add 1 frank, 2-3 tomato wedges, 1 dill spear, 2-3 cucumber slices, and 3-4 banana peppers to each bun.
  5. Top off the frank with a helping of white onion, relish, and mustard. Serve and enjoy.
